Dashlane can import passwords from your web browsers or from other digital wallets: this way, you will not have to waste time manually adding the info.Ī Premium account subscription grants you access to the Dashlane servers that can be used for backup or for device synchronization: the utility has companion apps for both iOS and Android devices.

On the whole, Dashlane proves to be a versatile and multi-layered service: you start by creating a database on your local computer, and the app uses your master password to encrypt it. Dashlane proposes a well-structured environment for managing passwords, secure notes, and payment details, and is able to sync the info to all your devices, in encrypted form. For this reason, it is highly recommended that you allowlist the LastPass web browser extension within the settings of these tools.Given the multitude of online services one uses on a regular basis and the increasing need to protect accounts against security breaches, electronic wallets have become an actual necessity.

  • Other web browser extensions, add-ons, or restrictive web browser settings can clear cookies earlier than desired.
  • Your session cookies or history may be being cleared too early, which are needed to recognize and maintain your LastPass browsing session.
  • There can be a few reasons for caching issues, each having different resolutions, as listed below.

If you've already adjusted the settings in your LastPass Preferences (as outlined in your post), are you using multifactor authentication for LastPass? If you are using a LastPass multifactor authentication scheme (eg: Grid, Sesame, YubiKey, Google Authenticator, etc.) then you may not remain logged in after a browser restart, depending on your offline and trust settings, and there may be a caching issue occurring within the web browser you are using. If LastPass won't do this, I need to know now so I don't waste a lot of time moving from Dashlane. What do I need to change, and what do I need to set it to, so I don't have to log into this more than once every 14 days minimum? And what else do I need to change/set so every browser I open (typically, Firefox and Chrome) log in the extension automatically, and RE-log in so I don't have to do any of THIS more than once every 14 days? Preferably less frequently. I have ALSO CHECKED that “Website Auto-Logoff” is set to 2 WEEKS and “Bookmarklet Auto-Logoff” is ALSO set to 2 WEEKS. Which if I"m reading correctly means it should never ask me for a password when I"m in there, not matter what I do. I've have gone into Account Settings > Advanced and unchedk ALL the items from “Re-prompt for Master Password”, INCLUDING “Access an Identity”. The bigger problem is the session I create in the browser that has the vault and looks like a "normal" screen. So, if I understand correctly it should ALWAYS be logged in. In the browser extension (the tiny red box way in the top right corner of the browser) both “Log out when all browsers are closed” and “Log out after this many minutes of inactivity” ARE NOT CHECKED… AGAIN, NEITHER IS CHECKED. Haven't logged out, have been away from the computer. Worse, randomly - it's done it in 2 minutes, it's stayed logged in for an hour - I'll suddenly find my session demanding the master password again. Again, once I've done this, I DON'T want to have to log in again for at least 2 weeks. I press the desktop icon and it starts a LastPass session in Firefox. And once one is logged in, or the actual browser session, ALL the browser extensions should log in WITHOUT demanding a password.

Which means it HAS to keep everything functional WITHOUT having to enter a password for at least 2 weeks on any of the browsers. Trying LastPass as a replacement for Dashlane, but it has to be AT LEAST as easy and idiot-proof as Dashlane to be worth moving. LastPass current version (installed yesterday).
